CBS Outdoor Receives Top Award For Digital Urban Panel Network
Outdoor advertising company recognized for exceptional transit media campaign
LAS VEGAS, March 14, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- CBS Outdoor received the Gold Medal Apex Award in the transportation category for the deployment of the Digital Urban Panel Network in New York City (Manhattan). The award, which recognizes "the execution of an exceptional digital signage technology installation," was presented as part of the Digital Signage Expo at the DSE Apex and Content Awards dinner in Las Vegas. Additionally, Purina's Beneful campaign, which was showcased at Columbus Circle's New York Subway installation, took home the Gold in the Transportation category and won Best in Show.
The CBS Outdoor Urban digital network includes 100 locations, or 200 "faces," and deploys state-of-the-art visual imaging on some of the busiest street corners throughout Manhattan. Sitting on top of subway entrance railings, the stairwell-facing screen rotates static images and a scroll of MTA messaging, while the sidewalk-facing screen projects full-motion digital images.
Accepting the award were Glen Herskowitz, CBS Outdoor Manager, Transit Media Development and Peter Kaszycki, Manufacturing Resources International (MRI) Vice President, Business Development. MRI developed and manufactured the units.
