THE WOODLANDS, Texas, June 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- CB&I (NYSE:CBI) today announced it has been awarded a contract by Pieridae Energy (Canada) Ltd (Pieridae) for the Front-End Engineering and Design (FEED) of the Goldboro LNG project located at the Goldboro Industrial Park in Guysborough County, Nova Scotia, Canada. Under the FEED contract, CB&I will design and engineer two LNG liquefaction trains and associated facilities in preparation for the Engineering, Procurement and Construction phase.
"CB&I has served the liquefied natural gas industry for more than 50 years, and this award builds on that experience," said Patrick K. "We look forward to working with Pieridae on the Goldboro LNG project, which upon completion will serve as North America's closest mainland LNG export terminal to Europe and India."
Goldboro LNG will produce up to 10 million metric tonnes per annum (MTPA) of LNG per year and will have on-site storage capacity of 690,000 cubic meters of LNG. Pieridae is in advanced discussions with several natural gas producers, pipeline operators and LNG customers.
