CB2 Announces Winners of 'The Selby Is In Your Place' Contest
Eileen Peters wins Grand Prize for the "Venice Surf Shack"
CHICAGO, Oct. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- CB2, the affordable, modern home furnishings destination from Crate and Barrel, announced today the winners of its biggest national contest to date, "CB2 The Selby is in Your Place," a partnership with celebrated lifestyle photographer and blogger, Todd Selby.
The one month contest sought to find the most creative space in America; the one that most authentically reflects the hip, fun aesthetic inherent in both CB2 and The Selby's vision. Participants entered the contest via the CB2 website, submitting three photos of their unique, inspired living space and competed to receive public votes. The 50 entries with the highest number of votes advanced to a final round where they were judged by CB2 and The Selby.
The Grand Prize Winner, Eileen Peters, was selected for her "Venice Surf Shack" and was awarded a $10,000 CB2 Shop Card and a coveted private photo session with The Selby. Images from the shoot will be featured on cb2.com, the CB2 blog and The Selby.
The "Venice Surf Shack"—an inspired, eclectically-appointed wooden bungalow in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Venice Beach—resonated with both the CB2 team and The Selby due to its unexpected combination of modern sophistication and casual chic decor.
"All of us on the CB2 team loved this entry," said Marta Calle, Director, CB2, "…from the style, composition, quirkiness and creativity, right down to the adorable dog! This is exactly what we love to see in people's homes, in our own homes, and of course, in our brand."
The Selby is known for its informal yet artistically-curated look and Todd Selby noted his appreciation for Peters' similar aesthetic: "I picked Eileen Peters' surf shack because I dig its charming, thrown together style. I am into all the mismatched furniture, 70s graphic surfboards, wood-beam ceilings, Pendleton pillows, grey shag carpet, funny art on the walls and, of course, the cute dog in the photos."
Margaret Robbs of Atlanta, Georgia received second place and a $2,500 CB2 Shop Card for her entry, "Lofty Urban Castle." Jeff Kapfer of Saint Louis, Missouri was awarded third place and a $1,000 CB2 Shop Card for his "Bird Nest Loft." Additionally, the contestant who accrued the highest total number of online votes, Megan Curameng of North Hollywood, California for "Movement Lifestyle," received a $2,500 CB2 Shop Card; 15 honorable mentions each received a $500 CB2 Shop Card.
