Contest Asks Cox Home Security Camera Customers to Share Fun Videos
ATLANTA, May 13, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Home security cameras are usually installed for peace of mind, but many customers find they sometimes get a little bit extra. Today Cox Communications announced an upcoming competition entitled "The Best Thing Caught on my Cox Home Security Contest." The contest allows customers to share a unique or funny moment captured on their Cox Home Security video camera for a chance to win an Apple iPad Air.
Cox Home Security users have numerous opportunities to customize their home (and capture comical video) by programming the system to record a video at optimal times, such as every time the front door opens, while turning lights on and off remotely or adjusting the thermostat on unsuspecting occupants. The Cox Home Security camera also gives users the capability to chuckle at pet antics, slip-ups, practical jokes and life's funny little annoyances.
"Cameras offer an ongoing sense of security beyond an emergency. We hear from our customers every day that they bought the system for safety but the home automation features and remote visibility into their home bring considerable benefits," said Kristine Faulkner, vice president and general manager of Home Security and Smart Home. "This contest is a great way to showcase how technology keeps our homes and loved ones safe, lets us better manage our households, and we get a good laugh every once an while in the process."
There are two phases to this contest: video entry and voting. From May 7, 2014 until July 30, 2014, contest participants can submit a video up to one minute long that showcases a unique or funny moment captured with a Cox Home Security video camera and load it via an app on the Cox Communication Facebook page. After the submission process, the top five finalists' videos will be shared on Cox's social media outlets and open for public voting beginning on August 1, 2014. Voting will be open until August 22, 2014, during which contest finalists may solicit votes from friends and family by sharing their video on their own personal social media pages.
Cox Home Security customers can monitor their own live or recorded home security video via touchscreen, online or smartphone to ensure that their loved ones and valuables are safe – and to watch for potential contest fodder. Complete contest details and entry information can be found on the Cox Communications Facebook page.
