Cathy Liston appointed to lead Sun Life Financial's U.S. Group and Voluntary Claims practice
WELLESLEY, Mass., Aug. 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Sun Life Financial U.S. today announced the appointment of Cathy Liston as Vice President Claims, Group & Voluntary Insurance. Cathy will lead the integrated claims practice for Sun Life's Group and Voluntary Life, Disability and Worksite portfolio, which includes supplemental health benefits such as Accident and Critical Illness insurance.
Cathy's many areas of responsibility include the multi-site claims operations for this product portfolio, which are backed by Sun Life's service guarantee, innovative return-to-work solutions that apply clinical and vocational best practices, claims analytics, and claims technology investments. Additionally, Cathy's leadership will contribute to the success of the Sun Life Center for Healthy Work in the Portland, Maine area, which demonstrates Sun Life's Work is Healthy philosophy and expertise in absence management and disability.
The creation of this new role reflects Sun Life's growth in the U.S. employee benefits market and its ongoing focus on claims expertise and client service.

Cathy is a highly-regarded leader in the employee benefits industry with decades of experience leading large-scale claims operations. Most recently, Cathy served as Vice President, Group Disability and Life Claims at Prudential Financial. Her prior experience includes Head of Disability and Absence Management at Aetna and Vice President, Disability Benefits at Unum. Cathy is a graduate of Colby College with a degree in mathematics.
