Walton to Serve as Key Management Leader for Small Business Mentoring Organization

WASHINGTON, Sept. 30 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- SCORE "Counselors to America's Small Business" announces the national appointment of Catherine Walton as the district director for the State of Tennessee. Walton, a volunteer leader based in Memphis will lead and support local SCORE offices in providing small business mentoring and training to entrepreneurs across the State of Tennessee.

Walton has been with SCORE since 2005. She started with Memphis SCORE as a volunteer and moved on to become Chairperson of Memphis SCORE before being named district director. Walton has 30 years of business management, marketing and operations experience and was honored several times for her contributions by FedEx top management, earning their highest Company Five Star award and President Club. She is also a board member of the Sales & Marketing Society of the Mid-South and a member of Kiwanis International.

SCORE's Great state of Tennessee includes 5 chapters that reach over 12,000 entrepreneurs annually through face-to-face and online counseling and a series of business workshops. The district's 145 volunteers have an average of 25 years of business knowledge, with a wide range of expertise.
