Catherine Tyler Mooney and John Hyatt Join Monitoring Analytics, LLC
EAGLEVILLE, Pa., Feb. 19, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Monitoring Analytics, the Independent Market Monitor for PJM, is pleased to announce that Dr. Catherine Tyler Mooney and Dr. John Hyatt are joining the company.
Dr. Mooney joins Monitoring Analytics from the Southwest Power Pool Market Monitoring Unit, where, as a Manager and Lead Market Monitor, she led analysis of market design policy, investigation of market participant behavior, and evaluation of market performance. SPP recognized her as a key contributor to the successful launch of its Integrated Marketplace in 2014. Prior to working at SPP, Dr. Mooney served on the faculty of the University of Oklahoma, taught economics courses at the University of Virginia, and worked in economics consulting. As a research economist and consultant, she developed technical expertise in the quantitative identification of the impacts of market power in regulated industries. Dr. Mooney has a Ph.D. and an M.A. in Economics from the University of Virginia and a B.A. in Economics from the College of William and Mary.
Dr. Hyatt joins Monitoring Analytics from the Southwest Power Pool Market Monitoring Unit, where, as a Principal Market Monitor, he served as the project leader for the 2014 Annual State of the Market report and the recently published study on Frequently Constrained Areas. Dr. Hyatt designed the mitigation plan for the SPP energy and ancillary services markets, supervised market participant monitoring for the Energy Imbalance Services Market, and advised SPP staff and stakeholders during the initial design of the Integrated Marketplace. Prior to working at SPP, Dr. Hyatt worked for the Arkansas Public Service Commission. Dr. Hyatt has a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics and an M.S. in Economics from the Colorado School of Mines and a B.A. in Mathematics from Hendrix College.
