Marron joins CHF's board at an exciting and significant time in the organization's history. On the heels of the passage of health insurance reform, an important first step towards securing health coverage for all children, CHF's Board and staff are developing a multi-year strategic plan that enables CHF's programs to grow and continue to address the serious access barriers that prevent millions of children and their families from getting the health care they need and deserve.
"For many years I have known of Catie's strong commitment to both children and the city of New York," said Irwin Redlener, MD, President & Co-Founder of CHF. "Catie is an innovative philanthropist and proven leader in board governance, finance, and journalism. Her knowledge and experience will certainly benefit CHF and the children and families we serve."
After graduating from Wellesley College, Marron began her career in investment banking at Morgan Stanley and later worked for Lehman Brothers. In 1985, she joined Conde Nast Publications beginning a new career in magazine journalism as an editor at Vogue and House & Garden. Since the birth of her children, she has been active as a Trustee of both The New York Public Library, where she currently oversees a $1.2 billion multi-faceted campaign, and Thirteen/WNET New York.
"We are delighted to have Catie join our board," said Robert F. Tannenhauser, Esq., Chairman of CHF's Board of Trustees. "Her guidance will undoubtedly help CHF continue to provide quality health care to America's most underserved children and families."
