Catering to Comic-Con Is Serious Business

STAMFORD, Conn., July 21, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Centerplate, North America's leading event hospitality provider, is serving as hospitality host for Comic-Con International, the largest comic book convention of its kind in the world, at the San Diego Convention Center July 21 through the 24th. The company has been preparing for the event for over four months and anticipates serving over 125,000 attendees.

For this special event, Centerplate has created tailored menus for the general attendees and associated private events alike. Locally-sourced organic ingredients will take center-stage in the private event menu featuring dishes like our signature Butter Lettuce Salad with Pancetta Bacon, Pear Tomatoes, Crumbled Blue Cheese and Cracked Pepper Vinaigrette. General attendees will enjoy a range of dishes from a Pear and Gorgonzola Salad to House-Made Personal Pizzas. In 2010 Centerplate served over 1,500 gourmet salads, 5,000 gourmet sandwiches and 10,000 personal pizzas.
