Catch the BVI Billfish Tournament
Bitter End Yacht Club Excited to Welcome Back Popular Catch and Release Contest
NEW YORK, June 2, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Blue marlin beware. The British Virgin Islands Tourist Board is pleased to announce the return of the BVI Billfish Tournament at the Bitter End Yacht Club from July 17-20, 2011. Whether in your own boat or a locally chartered one, competitors will enjoy fishing all day in the crystal clear water and relaxing in the evening with unforgettable social events.
This catch and release contest will take place at the North Drop, in an area ranging just 13 to 30 miles from Bitter End on Virgin Gorda. Competitors will spend the day casting out for prize-winning billfish in one of the best blue marlin fishing sites on the planet. Stats will be recorded at sea before the fish are released and, upon return from the days' adventures, virtual weigh-ins will take place at the resort. Prizes will be awarded from event sponsors, but the greatest prize is what will be given back: Proceeds from the event support local charitable organizations that benefit families of the Virgin Islands in need.
The Bitter End Yacht Club is proud to welcome all, from the serious fisher to the casual caster, as well as participants' families. Bitter End provides unforgettable island experiences for any and all clientele. Relax and recharge by the pool, on a sailboat, paddling a kayak, or doing absolutely nothing on one of the club's three beaches. During the BVI Billfish Tournament, the Bitter End Yacht Club will offer two packages for shoreside accommodations. Competitors may want to take advantage of the Bed & Breakfast Special, which includes a room in the North Sound Suites and full breakfast each morning, starting at just $275 per night. Bitter End Yacht Club is also offering 25% off their regular rates, with nightly rates starting at $450 for two. This package includes three meals daily, unlimited use of the Club fleet, an Introduction to Sailing Course, and access to the regattas and parties – fun for the entire family!
This summer, get into the competitive spirit down in paradise. Whether you leave a prizewinner or just rested and relaxed, everyone is a winner in the British Virgin Islands.
