Catbird Executives Speak at Key Technology Conferences
Virtualization Security Leading Topic at TakeDownCon and Interop
SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif., May 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Catbird, the pioneer in security and compliance for virtual, cloud and physical networks, announced today that two of the company's executives will be appearing as featured speakers in the coming weeks. Catbird VP of Marketing Tamar Newberger will address virtualization security in Las Vegas at Interop, a business technology conference covering cloud computing, virtualization, security, mobility and data center advances. Next week, Catbird CTO Michael Berman will speak and demo at TakeDownCon 2011, a leading technical IT security conference.
Newberger will speak at 3:30 p.m. today as part of a panel discussion on "Virtualization Security and Compliance", Session ID VC13. The panel will address virtualization's impact on major compliance standards and what fundamental changes to security practices are required as a consequence. Regulatory standards analyzed will include NIST, FISMA, PCI and HIPAA. The session is highly recommended to conference attendees from regulated enterprises or agencies who are looking for actionable advice on how to best leverage their virtualized data centers while maintaining compliance for even their most mission-critical applications.
On Thursday, May 19, Michael Berman will speak at 11:20 a.m. on the subject of "Stopping Worms, Malicious Insiders, And Other Lower Life Forms in the Virtual Data Center". During his presentation, Berman will illustrate a virtual security hack via a live demonstration of virtual network compromise and mitigation. Attack detection and mitigation for worm propagation, virtual center attack/protection and malicious use of privileges by a VC administrator will be shown in real-time. Berman will then review virtualization security best practices to protect against such risks. Berman's presentation will be given at TakeDownCon Dallas, which is being held at the Intercontinental Hotel May 14-19.
