DALLAS, May 11, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Catalyst Health Network, a fast-growing alliance of independent physicians in North Texas, is pleased to announce the addition of HCA to its affiliate network. HCA is the nation's leading provider of healthcare services, a company comprised of locally managed facilities that includes approximately 165 hospitals and 115 freestanding surgery centers in 20 states and employing approximately 204,000 people. In North Texas, HCA has 12 hospitals, 11 freestanding surgery centers, 5 freestanding ER's, and 31 urgent care centers that will work with Catalyst's independent physician network to improve quality of care while reducing overall costs.
The addition of HCA to Catalyst's growing affiliate network strengthens the continuity of care. The relationship helps improve the health of the population throughout North Texas and creates significant synergy with Catalyst's existing affiliate relationship with Questcare, which staffs the emergency rooms and hospitalists for HCA's North Texas facilities.
"The addition of HCA provides a tremendous opportunity for Catalyst's independent physicians to better coordinate care," said Dr. Christopher Crow, president, Catalyst Health Network. "Building a collaborative relationship with HCA enables us to create a more dynamic healthcare platform for independent physicians and strengthens our care system."
"Independent physicians are the backbone of our healthcare communities," said Erol Akdamar, president, HCA North Texas Division. "HCA North Texas' strong network of hospitals and care sites will enhance care for Catalyst's patients and improve the overall health of the population."
Since its launch in January 2015, Catalyst has quickly grown to 175 providers across North Texas.
