Catalant adds Former Slack CMO to talent roster
BOSTON, July 26, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Catalant Technologies, the company redefining how top enterprises access talent, announced today a significant addition to its marketing leadership team. Bill Macaitis has joined the company as a strategic marketing advisor. Macaitis, who previously served as Chief Marketing Officer at Slack Technologies, Inc., will assist product marketing efforts as Catalant's platform continues to offer new functionality to customers.
This expansion builds on the momentum of Catalant's recent Series D funding announcement of $41 million in new financing from its existing investors including Highland Capital Partners and General Catalyst. It also builds on the talent strategy of adding seasoned executives including Kylie Wright-Ford, who joined as an advisor in January 2017 and previously served as Co-Head of Global Operations at GLG and Chief Operating and Strategy Officer at World 50, Inc. Wright-Ford oversees public relations and event campaigns.
"We continue to see leading companies like GE fundamentally rethink their approach to talent," said Rob Biederman, Co-CEO and Co-Founder. "We realize, though, that we are leading a broad transformation wave in reimagining work. We are thrilled to have seasoned executives like Kylie and Bill joining us to help communicate to enterprises why this approach is becoming a strategic imperative," Biederman said.
Macaitis has spent over 20 years in go-to-market leadership roles and has achieved multiple exits through both IPO and acquisitions. Macaitis crafted his skills on the B2C side building a 175M audience at IGN & Fox websites and then switched to B2B where he powered growth for 3 of the 5 fastest ever growing SaaS companies. At Slack, he served as CRO, building the marketing, sales, success and support teams. Slack became the fastest company ever to achieve $100M in ARR in just 2.5 years. At Zendesk, he served as CMO and took the company through a successful $1.7B IPO and at Salesforce, he served as SVP Marketing helping scale revenues from $1B to $3B.
Wright-Ford was most recently the Chief Operating and Strategy Officer for Atlanta-based World 50, which builds and manages executive C-suite communities. She sits on multiple boards, including Source Media, Venture Atlanta and Knock Inc. Her leadership positions have spanned operational, strategic and sales roles in Australia, New York and London including spending seven years with global expert network firm GLG. She is an experienced leader of talent, strategy, financial transactions and growth initiatives and has recently co-authored a book on leading in the new world of work – The Leadership Mind Switch.
