Castro, Gingrich, Five Former HUD Secretaries, Donovan, Carville and Matalin to Speak at Housing Summit Next Week
WASHINGTON, Sept. 12, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On Monday morning, the Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC) will kick off its 2014 Housing Summit in Washington. The two-day event will feature leading housing policy and economic experts from around the country. Highlights include:
Secretary Julián Castro, who was recently sworn in as HUD Secretary, will outline his vision and priorities for the department on Tuesday afternoon.
Newt Gingrich will provide a keynote address on the economy on Tuesday morning.
OMB Director Shaun Donovan, a former HUD Secretary, will be honored at the event, following election analysis and political commentary by James Carville and Mary Matalin on Monday evening.
Former Congressman Rick Lazio will moderate a conversation on Monday afternoon with an unprecedented number of former HUD Secretaries on one panel – Henry Cisneros, Carla Hills, Alphonso Jackson, Mel Martinez and Steve Preston – who will reflect on their experiences leading the department and share their insights on how to respond to the major challenges facing the housing sector.
