Cassidy Turley Announces Leadership Change
Board of Directors Names Joe Stettinius CEO to Succeed Mark Burkhart
WASHINGTON, Oct. 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Cassidy Turley, a leading commercial real estate services provider in the U.S., today announced that its board of directors unanimously elected Joseph Stettinius Jr. as the company's new Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.
Serving as President and CEO, Mr. Stettinius will lead the operations of Cassidy Turley. He previously served as President of Cassidy Turley, and succeeds Mark Burkhart, who will serve as an ongoing advisor to the company.
"Joe's leadership enhances our firm's ability to capitalize on the significant opportunity ahead," said Wally Pinkard, Chairman of Cassidy Turley. "The company has met its growth and development goals ahead of schedule and we are well poised to meet our next set of strategic objectives. This leadership change is consistent with our succession plan and is at a natural time for a shift."
"After 36 years in the commercial real estate industry, with over 20 years as CEO of Cassidy Turley and one of its predecessor firms, Mark decided to step down as CEO," Mr. Pinkard added. "Mark's initiatives set in motion our current growth plan."
Based in Cassidy Turley's Washington office, Mr. Stettinius is an accomplished industry veteran with more than 25 years in commercial real estate leadership roles, including 13 years at Trammell Crow, which was acquired by CBRE Group.
He served as president of Cassidy Turley since the company's inception in August 2008. From March 2007 to February 2010, he was CEO of predecessor firm Cassidy & Pinkard Colliers. Prior to that, Mr. Stettinius served as senior managing director of CBRE Group as a result of its acquisition of Trammell Crow, where he was Area Director for Trammell Crow's Mid-Atlantic services business. Mr. Stettinius also held executive positions at Equity Office Properties Trust and Jones Lang Wootton, a predecessor firm to Jones Lang LaSalle.
"I look forward to leading Cassidy Turley as we continue to focus on expanding our capabilities and refining our platform to provide exceptional value and service to our clients," Mr. Stettinius said. "We expect to enter additional strategic markets as well as enhance our capabilities in existing markets in order to meet our goals."
Mr. Burkhart will serve as an advocate for the company, its strategy and its leadership. He also will be available as a resource to maintain relationships with clients, shareholders and financial partners and will continue to assist with recruiting new talent.
"Cassidy Turley salutes Mark's critical contributions in the formation of the company and its rapid early expansion of services," Mr. Pinkard said. "And, we look forward to his continued service."
Mr. Burkhart said, "I am very proud of my role during Cassidy Turley's integration and initial success. Our team has positioned the company as a national commercial real estate services firm that successfully competes for assignments from major clients anywhere in the U.S." He added, "I have been fortunate to oversee a period of phenomenal growth in the company, and we are on the cusp of the next stage of evolution. Joe is an accomplished leader with broad experience in some of the most successful commercial real estate firms. With the support of the strong leadership team in place, he is ideally positioned to lead the continued growth and success of Cassidy Turley."
