Cassidy Turley Acquires Synergy Commercial Advisors
Company's Strategic Move Enhances Capabilities in Research Triangle
Synergy's Rich Harris Becomes Cassidy Turley Leader in Raleigh-Durham
RALEIGH, N.C., Aug. 1, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Cassidy Turley, a leading commercial real estate services provider in the U.S., has acquired Synergy Commercial Advisors, a leading commercial real estate services firm in North Carolina's Research Triangle region (Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill).
Led by Rich Harris who founded the firm in 2008, Synergy is one of the leading tenant representation and corporate services firms in the region. Eight brokers from the firm are joining Cassidy Turley, including Mr. Harris, Doug Cook, Jim Flink, Mac Hammer, Robert Hoyt, Jerry Levit, Ryan Toland and Ben Litke. Synergy will relocate to Cassidy Turley's current office.
With the acquisition, Mr. Harris, one of the region's top tenant representation brokers, will serve as Managing Principal for Cassidy Turley in the Raleigh-Durham market. The move also enables Cassidy Turley Senior Vice President David Finger to return to his focus on capital markets in the Carolinas.
"We have been looking for the ideal strategic move for our Raleigh operations, and, with Rich and his team, we have found it," said Doug Brandon, Regional Managing Principal, Southeast, at Cassidy Turley. "We look forward to blending and enhancing their tenant representation and project leasing practice with our broader platform. In addition, we're excited to leverage Rich's leadership skills and reputation to serve our Raleigh-Durham office as Managing Principal."
The acquisition complements Cassidy Turley's strong, existing capabilities in the Raleigh-Durham area, which include capital markets, project leasing, project and development services, property management and tenant representation. The firm's property management service line has been ranked No. 1 locally by the Triangle Business Journal the past two years.
"My entire team is thrilled to now be part of Cassidy Turley," Mr. Harris said. "Beyond tenant representation and corporate services, this move allows us to offer clients an expanded geographic reach and a full-service platform – including best in class capital markets, property management and project and development services. We place high value on the cultural fit, both locally and nationally, and the overall strategic alignment that exists between our firm and Cassidy Turley's executive management. I'm excited to part of the new Raleigh-Durham team and expect us to be a market leader from day one."
Mr. Harris added, "We share the conviction that the client's objectives always come first. Also, we believe that a large, national platform can still be nimble, creative and entrepreneurial in the solutions we provide our clients."
