Winter 2015 Release Offers Utility for Winter Athletes
DOVER, N.J., Nov. 9, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- For November 2015, Casio America, Inc. expands their G-SHOCK G-Lide Series with a release for Winter 2015 sports and activities.
Inspired by the stunning aurora lights which are only visible in the night skies of the arctic regions, the GLS8900AR-1, the GLS8900AR-2, and the GLS8900AR-3 are dressed in electrifying shades of blue and green. An ion-plated bezel gives off a reflective, iridescent sheen and the multi-hued bands replicate the expansive aurora skies.
Designed to withstand the toughest cold weather conditions, the G-Lide Winter Series is equipped with low temperature resistance up to -20°C / -4°F allowing the LCD screen to resist fadeout in extreme cold. Additionally, the timepieces offer Shock Resistance, 200M Water Resistance, Auto LED (Super Illuminator), Flash Alert, World Time (29TZ / 48Cities), 4 Multi-function Alarms & 1 Snooze Alarm, Dual 1/100th Sec. Stopwatch (1000 Hr), Countdown Timer (24 Hr), 12/24 Hr Formats, and Mute Function. All of these capabilities make the timepieces an ideal choice for extreme winter sport athletes and for any winter activity imaginable.
All three watches in the G-SHOCK G-Lide Winter 2015 series will retail for $130.00 USD and be available in November 2015. The GLS8900AR-1 and GLS8900AR-2 will be available at the G-SHOCK NYC Soho store, gshock.com, select department stores, and fashion boutiques. The GLS8900AR-3 will be available exclusively at Zumiez.
About G-SHOCK
CASIO's shock-resistant G-SHOCK watch is synonymous with toughness, born from the developer Mr. Ibe's dream of 'creating a watch that never breaks.' Over 200 handmade samples were created and tested to destruction until finally in 1983 the first, now iconic G-SHOCK hit the streets of Japan and began to establish itself as 'the toughest watch of all time.' Each watch encompasses the 7 elements; electric shock resistance, gravity resistance, low temperature resistance, vibration resistance, water resistance, shock resistance and toughness. The watch is packed with Casio innovations and technologies to prevent it from suffering direct shock; this includes internal components protected with urethane and suspended timekeeping modules inside the watch structure. Since its launch, G-SHOCK has continued to evolve, continuing to support on Mr. Ibe's mantra "never, never give up."
