New Model Includes Updated Band and Lighter Case Design
DOVER, N.J., Dec. 18, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Casio G-SHOCK unveils the latest addition to the upscale Full Metal 5000 line with the launch of the GMWB5000-1. Updated with an all-new band material, the new model is the first timepiece within the collection to combine a metal bezel and resin band. Featuring the iconic square shaped bezel, brick pattern on the face, and screw-lock case back, the timepiece is also inspired by G-SHOCK's original case design from 1983.
Created with the brand's core ethos of "Absolute Toughness", the GMWB5000-1 boasts a lightweight and extremely durable resin band. The all black band adds to the model's sleek appearance, and overall strength in withstanding any activity, from day to night.
Boasting premium features such as Tough Solar technology – rendering the watch capable of self-charging even with low sun exposure, the new Metal 5000 timepiece also includes G-SHOCK's Multi-Band 6 technology and Bluetooth® connectivity for two-way time sync functionality. A super illuminator LED light and updated negative STN LCD display are also included.
Additionally, the new model comes equipped with G-SHOCK technology such as:

About G-SHOCK
CASIO's shock-resistant G-SHOCK watch is synonymous with toughness, born from the developer Mr. Ibe's dream of 'creating a watch that never breaks'. Over 200 handmade samples were created and tested to destruction until finally in 1983 the first, now iconic G-SHOCK hit the streets of Japan and began to establish itself as 'the toughest watch of all time'. Each watch encompasses the 7 elements; electric shock resistance, gravity resistance, low temperature resistance, vibration resistance, water resistance, shock resistance and toughness. The watch is packed with Casio innovations and technologies to prevent it from suffering direct shock; this includes internal components protected with urethane and suspended timekeeping modules inside the watch structure. Since its launch, G-SHOCK has continued to evolve, continuing to support on Mr. Ibe's mantra "never, never give up." www.gshock.com
