CASIO G-SHOCK And Marcelo Burlon Go For Round Two
Italian Designer Marcelo Burlon Introduces a Second G-SHOCK Collaborative Model
DOVER, N.J., April 15, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- CASIO G-SHOCK and Marcelo Burlon reignite their partnership for a limited edition timepiece that will land this May 2016.
The GA100MRB-1A collaborative watch highlights iconographic elements from Patagonia featuring the coral snake, chosen because of their emblem of a land of tradition and wildness. Stripped of their signature colors, the monochrome snakes crawl creating a visually assertive pattern that reminds of fallen shadows and pays tribute to ouroboros, an ancient esoteric symbol of eternity and human psyche. The iconic design wraps around the watch and finds a nest on surfaces previously unexplored.
In true G-SHOCK form, there is always a duality of distinctive design and technological support in this timepiece. The GA100MRB-1A features Shock Resistance, 200M Water Resistance, Magnetic Resistance, Auto LED Light, World Time (48 Cities + UTC), 4 Daily Alarms & 1 Snooze Alarm, 1/1000 Sec. Stopwatch (100Hr) with Speed Indicator, Countdown Timer (24Hr), 12/24 Hr Formats, and a case size of 51.2mm.
The GA100MRB-1A will be available this May 2016 retailing for $200 USD. The collaborative model will be available at gshock.com, G-SHOCK NYC Soho store, select fashion boutiques and jewelers as well as select Macy's and other department stores.
About G-SHOCK
CASIO's shock-resistant G-SHOCK watch is synonymous with toughness, born from the developer Mr. Ibe's dream of 'creating a watch that never breaks'. Over 200 handmade samples were created and tested to destruction until finally in 1983 the first, now iconic G-SHOCK hit the streets of Japan and began to establish itself as 'the toughest watch of all time'. Each watch encompasses the 7 elements; electric shock resistance, gravity resistance, low temperature resistance, vibration resistance, water resistance, shock resistance and toughness. The watch is packed with Casio innovations and technologies to prevent it from suffering direct shock; this includes internal components protected with urethane and suspended timekeeping modules inside the watch structure. Since its launch, G-SHOCK has continued to evolve, continuing to support on Mr. Ibe's mantra "never, never give up". In 2013, G-SHOCK celebrated their 30th anniversary.
