Cash4Life Ticket Sold in Monroe County Wins $1,000 A Week For Life
MIDDLETOWN, Pa., Sept. 15, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- One Pennsylvania Lottery Cash4Life™ ticket sold in Monroe County for the Monday, September 14, drawing won a prize of $1,000 a week for life.
It is the first Cash4Life second-tier prize won in Pennsylvania since the state joined the multi-state game in April.
The ticket correctly matched all five balls, 03-07-14-19-25, but not the green Cash Ball, 02, to win an annuity prize valued at $52,000 a year for life, less 25 percent federal withholding. The prize has a cash value of $1 million, less federal withholding.
Price Chopper, 4547 Milford Road, East Stroudsburg, will receive a $5,000 bonus for selling this winning ticket.
The prize must be claimed and the ticket validated before the winner can be identified. Cash4Life winners have one year from the drawing date to claim prizes.
The holder of any annuity prize-winning ticket should immediately sign the back of the ticket, call the Lottery at 717-702-8146 and file a claim at Lottery headquarters in Middletown, Dauphin County. Claims may be filed Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
More than 23,900 other Cash4Life tickets won prizes of various amounts in the drawing. Players should check every ticket, every time. Lower-tier prizes may be claimed at a Lottery retailer.
Since the Pennsylvania Lottery joined Cash4Life in April, more than 1.2 million tickets sold statewide have won more than $6.6 million in prizes, including last night's second-tier prize. The game's top prize is $1,000 a day for life.
In the 2013-14 fiscal year, in addition to awarding more than $25 million in prizes to Monroe County winners, the Pennsylvania Lottery contributed more than $8.4 million to programs serving the county's older residents.
How to play Cash4Life: Each play costs $2. Players choose five numbers from 1-60 and one number from 1-4, the green Cash Ball. Players may choose their own numbers using a playslip or opt for computer-selected Quick Pick numbers. Cash4Life offers a top prize of $1,000 a day for life, a second prize of $1,000 a week for life, plus seven other ways to win. Drawings are held each Monday and Thursday at 9 p.m. and tickets can be purchased up to 10 draws in advance. Approximate chances of winning: top prize: 1 in 21.8 million; second prize: 1 in 7.3 million; overall/any prize: 1 in 8.
