Cash 5 Tickets Share $1,047,618 Jackpot; $125,000 Jackpot Also Won
MIDDLETOWN, Pa., Sept. 14, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Four winning tickets sold in Cumberland, Schuylkill, Clarion, and Washington counties shared a Cash 5 jackpot worth $1,047,618 for the Friday, September 11, drawing.
Each ticket correctly matched all five balls, 01-16-18-20-41, to win individual prizes of $261,904.50, less 25 percent federal withholding.
The following retailers will each receive a $500 bonus for selling the jackpot-winning tickets:
- Sunoco, 6025 Carlisle Pike, Mechanicsburg, Cumberland County;
- Cressona Agway, 22 N. 2nd Street, Cressona, Schuylkill County;
- Comet Food Warehouse, 443 S. 5th Ave., Clarion, Clarion County; and
- Get Go, 2846 Washington Road, Canonsburg, Washington County.
Cash 5 produced another big winner on Saturday, September 12, when a $125,000 jackpot was won by one ticket sold at Petro Gas, 1325 Route 100, Barto, Berks County.
The ticket correctly matched all five balls, 05-12-16-19-23, to win a prize of $125,000, less 25 percent federal withholding. The retailer will receive a $500 bonus for selling this winning ticket.
The prizes must be claimed and the tickets validated before the winners can be identified. Cash 5 winners have one year from the drawing date to claim prizes.
The Lottery encourages each holder of a jackpot-winning ticket to sign the back of the ticket, call the Lottery at 717-702-8146 and file a claim at any of Lottery's seven area offices or at Lottery headquarters in Middletown, Dauphin County.
Claims may be filed Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at area offices and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at headquarters.
More than 124,500 other Cash 5 tickets won prizes of various amounts in the September 11 and 12 drawings. Players should check every ticket, every time. Lower-tier prizes may be claimed at Lottery retailers.
In the 2013-14 fiscal year: In Cumberland County, the Pennsylvania Lottery awarded more than $40.2 million in prizes to winners and provided more than $15.9 million to programs that benefit older residents. In Schuylkill County, the Lottery awarded more than $40.6 million in prizes and contributed nearly $20 million to programs serving the county's older residents. In Clarion County, the Lottery awarded more than $7.4 million in prizes and contributed more than $4.1 million to programs serving the county's older residents. In Washington County, the Pennsylvania Lottery awarded more than $35.6 million in prizes to winners and provided more than $20.5 million to programs that benefit older residents. And in Berks County, in addition to awarding more than $62.6 million in prizes, the Lottery contributed more than $30.1 million to programs serving the county's older residents.
How to play Cash 5: To play Cash 5, players pay $1 and select five numbers from 1 to 43. Players may select their own numbers using a Cash 5 playslip, or they may opt for computer-selected quick picks. Players must match all five numbers drawn to win the jackpot. Players also win prizes for matching two, three or four winning numbers. Cash 5 drawings are held seven nights a week, and tickets can be purchased up to seven draws (one week) in advance. Odds of winning the jackpot prize are 1-in-962,598; the overall odds of winning any prize are about 1-in-10.5.
