Cascal Awarded Global Water Intelligence Distinction
Honored in the 'Water Company of the Year' Category
LONDON, May 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Cascal N.V. (NYSE: HOO), a leading provider of water and wastewater services in eight countries, announced that on 26 April 2010, Cascal was awarded a distinction for the Global Water Intelligence awards in the 'Water Company of the Year' category. This is an outstanding achievement with Cascal achieving second place and Acciona Aqua winning the award.
The 'Water Company of the Year' category is for the company who has made the most significant contribution to the development of the international water sector during 2009. Four companies were shortlisted for the award and included, Cascal, Acciona Agua, Beijing Enterprises Water Group and Remondis Agua.

The awards were presented by Queen Noor of Jordan who also gave an inspiring speech about the water sector. Cascal's award was received by Cascal's Business Development Director Dr Brian Winfield and Marius van Aardt, Managing Director of Silulumanzi, one of Cascal's South African operations.
