REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Aug. 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Dell'Oro Group, the trusted source for market information about the networking and telecommunications industries, announced today that overall Carrier IP Telephony market revenues grew 10% sequentially and were flat on a year-over-year basis. Declines in media gateway and softswitch revenues offset high growth experienced by the Voice Application Server (VAS) and Session Border Controller (SBC) markets. 2Q11 VAS revenues grew over the last year by more than 15%, driven in large part by the deployment of hosted business services by service providers. SBC revenues likewise grew by nearly 40% over the year-ago quarter and is attracting the attention of many vendors.

"Session Border Controller market revenues accelerated to 38% year-over-year and saw one new entrant, Alcatel-Lucent, grab four percent revenue share."
GENBAND maintained its revenue share lead in the wireline voice core market, while Ericsson remained number one in wireless voice core.
