PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 10, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney joined International United Brotherhood of Carpenters & Joiners of America (UBC) General President Douglas McCarron, Second General Vice President Frank Spencer, Eastern District Vice President Michael Capelli and Executive Secretary-Treasurer of the Northeast Regional Council of Carpenters (NRCC) John Ballantyne at a rally today for Hillary Clinton, where they emphasized the critical importance of the upcoming election and urged all union members and their families to "get out and vote for Hillary Clinton."

We need a strong leader like Hillary Clinton who will mobilize the energy and strength of the American people and lead the fight to create good paying jobs and increase economic opportunities for our people," McCarron said.

McCarron called on his members to make sure they and all their family and friends "cast their vote in support of the middle class in the upcoming election."
NRCC's Executive Secretary-Treasurer John Ballantyne added, "Carpenters have a history of leading the fight for better working conditions, fair wages and benefits for union workers. In order to ensure the continued expansion of our economy, we will do all we can to elect Hillary Clinton as our next President."
Nationally there are over half-million members of the International United Brotherhood of Carpenters & Joiners of America. The NRCC represents over thirty-five thousand members in Philadelphia and the surrounding counties, New York State, New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland.
