Carousel Industries and Meru Networks Bring Next-Generation Wireless Network to El Molino High School with "Summer of Wireless Makeover" Program
California High School Awarded $65,000 Overhaul of its Wi-Fi network, Bringing State of the Art Wireless Technology to Students and Faculty
EXETER, R.I., Oct. 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Carousel Industries, a leader in data networking and converged communications, and Meru Networks, a pioneer in 802.11n wireless LAN, announced today that El Molino High School of Forestville, California has won a completely new wireless network infrastructure, compliments of Meru and Carousel Industries. The prize was awarded as part of Meru's "Summer of Wireless Makeover" program.
The makeover contest, which attracted 535 entries from across the United States, will provide El Molino High School with $65,000 worth of wireless technology equipment and services. This includes $45,000 worth of infrastructure, courtesy of Meru, and $20,000 worth of deployment and integration services, courtesy of Carousel Industries.

Carousel and Meru plan to deploy the wireless network -- which includes access points, controllers and management software -- during the winter break of 2011 so students, faculty and guests will have access to the advanced technologies during the new year, and without disruption to the fall semester. The new wireless infrastructure will enable students and faculty to quickly access the network from anywhere on the campus and through a range of technologies, including handheld mobile devices.
The 'Summer of Wireless Makeover' contest offered schools the possibility to win a next-generation wireless network from Meru, including the installation services required to get it off the ground. The comprehensive package includes:
- AP320i dual radio 802.11n access points providing 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands to support dense environments, covering up to 75,000 sq ft.
- MC 1500 controller with 15 Access Point license running on Meru's System Director with Air Traffic Control.
- SA200 with Meru's EzRF Network Manager with 50 Access Point license .
- EzRF Visualize with 50 Access Point license.
- Meru Training, 2.5 day instructor-led online course for one person to get up to speed on network monitoring, configuration, installation and troubleshooting
