Carnegie Council Launches Electronic Newsletter, 'Ethics & International Affairs'
NEW YORK, May 20 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On Monday, May 17, the Carnegie Council launched an electronic newsletter from the editors of the Council's journal, "Ethics & International Affairs" (EIA). Designed for educators and scholars, the newsletter provides a guide to the most significant EIA articles on global ethics and justice. It will appear twice a year, in spring and fall, timed to accommodate syllabi for the coming college semester.

"Because the journal's subject matter crosses the threshold between theory and praxis, many of our features, essays, and interviews are particularly useful in the classroom--engaging students in both the "big problems" in contemporary international relations and the ethical conundrums that underlie or give rise to them," says EIA Editor John Tessitore. "We hope that this newsletter will prove useful, and we welcome feedback."
The first issue highlights the following:
Special Section: Postconflict Justice and Reconstruction
Symposium: The Rights of Irregular Migrants
Symposium: Ecological Intervention
Article and Response: The Myth of "Torture Lite"
Article: The International Community and Mass Atrocities
Audio Interview: Environmental Security
The Carnegie Council's quarterly publication, "Ethics & International Affairs," is an interdisciplinary resource for scholars, students, journalists, and policy analysts concerned with the moral dimensions of global issues. The journal addresses questions of global justice, civil society, democratization, international law, migration, the environment, war and peace, and other global challenges—examining the hard choices that need to be made every day in the real world.
The Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs (www.carnegiecouncil.org), established in 1914 by Andrew Carnegie, is an independent, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing understanding of the relationship between ethics and international affairs.
