Carmel Car And Limousine Service Announces Partnership With FM News 101.9 Radio
Information On Traffic Congestion Feed To Limo Service Aids Carmel In Providing A Faster, Traffic-jam Free Service
NEW YORK, July 6, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Carmel Car and Limousine Service, the largest limousine service in the world, announced today a partnership with New York City-based WEMP-FM News 101.9 Radio.
The partnership calls for WEMP-FM (known on-air as FM News 101.9) and Carmel Car and Limousine service to exchange traffic information for the benefit of the tri-state area commuters, travelers and Carmel's passengers. In this real time information exchange, FM News 101.9 traffic reports give listeners information on traffic situations they receive from the total traffic network team. Carmel will use this information to route their cars to avoid the congested area. In return, Carmel affiliated drivers in the tri-state area will be reporting on accidents, road conditions, street closings and any other pertinent information in real time to FM News 101.9 which the station will add to their live reports. This partnership will also create the Carmel "call the sixes short cut" where FM News 101.9 traffic reporters suggest an alternative route to avoid a congested area. FM News will broadcast this on-air traffic integration at :15 and :45 past every hour. The now iconic Carmel commercial jingle, "666-6666 Remember 6" will precede each report at :15 past every hour.
According to Dr. Avik Kabessa, Chief Executive Officer of Carmel Car and Limousine Service, "We are delighted to be partnering with FM News 101.9 radio in order to provide our customers with a faster, on-time all the time, more enjoyable ride to their destination," he said. "Nobody wants to be caught in a traffic jam that might cause them to miss a flight or be late for a meeting. This association is a 'win, win' for all participants and we will consider implementing similar partnerships in other locations we service," said Kabessa.
According to Mark Austin Thomas, Program Director of WEMP-FM, "This partnership with Carmel not only helps their customers get to the airport and their destination on time but helps our listeners navigate the roads and avoid traffic situations. The information we report through our combined efforts in the Carmel "call the sixes short cut" will make these useful traffic reports even more important to our audience."
