Carlson Announces Second Radisson in Chongqing

BEIJING, May 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Carlson Hotels, one of the world's leading hotel companies, announces today that it has signed a stunning lake view resort property. The 400-room Radisson Hotel Chongqing Shapingba will open in the first half of 2012.

One of four signings in China by Carlson Hotels this week, the hotel is part of the Li Shu Wan Spa City project, one of the largest resort, spa and wellness destination development projects in China. It is also adjacent to Rong Hui Hot Spring, Asia's largest hot spring spa facility spanning 40,000 square metres.

The Radisson Hotel Chongqing Shapingba will feature a selection of dining options, and extensive meeting facilities including two ballrooms, three function rooms, one boardroom and a business centre. For recreation, the hotel will feature holistic spa facilities, a fully equipped gym and an indoor swimming pool.  

Radisson Hotel Chongqing Shapingba is located about 30 minutes from Chongqing Jiangbei airport, which provides several connections to over 30 local and international destinations. Situated in the cultural centre of Chongqing, the hotel is also in close proximity to the city's famous tourist attraction, the Three Gorges Square.

The Radisson Hotel Chongqing Shapingba is Carlson Hotels' second property in Chongqing. Last year, the group announced the 327-room Radisson Plaza Hotel Chongqing Nan Bin Lu scheduled to open in the first quarter of next year.
