PHILADELPHIA, May 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Carlos Fadigas, 40, has been named CEO of Braskem America, formerly Sunoco Chemicals, and will officially begin his new role starting May 17, the company announced. Bruce Rubin, who directed the first steps of the integration process, will remain an integral part of the management team for Braskem America, taking on the position of Senior Vice President of External Affairs and Business Development.

His arrival strengthens an already talented and experienced management team," Bernardo Gradin, CEO Braskem, said.
Fadigas most recently served as CFO of Braskem, where he led the Sunoco Chemicals merger-and-acquisition deal. Previously, he was CFO at Odebrecht Construction. Odebrecht, one of the largest Brazilian conglomerates, is the controlling shareholder of the Braskem Corporation.
Fadigas holds a master's degree in business administration from the Institute for Management Development in Switzerland, as well as a bachelor's from the University of Salvador in Bahia, Brazil.
