Carlos Banchik Elected President Of International Monorail Association
LAS VEGAS, Oct. 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Carlos Banchik, President of Innova Technologies, has been elected President of the International Monorail Association (IMA).
Banchik, whose company has been a member of the IMA since 2010, was elected president at the IMA meeting in Dresden, Germany. His term ends in the fall of 2016.

IMA is the world's most important forum for exchanging vital information on this state-of-the-art mass transportation system," Banchik said. His executive board consists of Jaap H. Ketel, General Secretary, Paul Tulp, Treasurer, and Peter Keller, Member.

Since being elected as President, Banchik has worked on strengthening the reach of the organization, helped plan the 2013 meeting in Korea by working with companies worldwide that may be interested in monorails, and targeted embassies located in South Korea to communicate with planning organizations within their countries to attend the meeting in Korea.
Banchik is recognized as an expert in the design and construction engineering of monorail projects.
Banchik started Innova Technologies in 2003. Under his leadership, Innova has grown to be a leading specialty engineering firm in monorail and people-mover transit and construction engineering.
Banchik and many people in his staff have worked on several major transportation projects, including the Las Vegas Monorail, MGM-Bally's Monorail, Hoover Dam Bypass Bridge, Harmon-Las Vegas Blvd Pedestrian Bridge, Waikoloa Hotel Tramway Bogie Design in Hawaii, and a 24-km-long Monorail in Sao Paulo, Brazil, connecting the Vila Prudente to Cidade Tiradentes.
Prior to establishing Innova Technologies, Banchik gained more than 20 years' experience working with numerous public and private transportation systems, and has been responsible for more than $800 million of construction projects.
Banchik received a Master of Engineering degree in Structural Engineering and Structural Mechanics (SESM) from the University of California, Berkeley.
