Carl Reiner, Amy Sedaris and Sherri Shepherd Top the List of Guest Stars for TV Land's 'Hot in Cleveland'
The Winter Run Of Cable's Hottest Sitcom Culminates With A Cliffhanger Episode On March 23, 2011 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT
LOS ANGELES, March 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Carl Reiner ("The Dick Van Dyke Show"), Gregory Harrison ("Trapper John, M.D."), Sherri Shepherd ("The View," "30 Rock"), and Amy Sedaris ("The School of Rock," "Strangers with Candy") will appear in the final two episodes of the winter run for TV Land's hit sitcom, "Hot in Cleveland." Mark Deklin ("Riverworld") will also reprise his role in the finale as Elka's attorney, Kirk Stark. "Hot in Cleveland" airs on Wednesday nights at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on TV Land and stars acclaimed actresses Valerie Bertinelli ("One Day at a Time"), Jane Leeves ("Frasier"), Wendie Malick ("Just Shoot Me") and recent Screen Actors Guild Award®-winner, Betty White ("The Golden Girls").
Here are the episode descriptions:
Wednesday, March 16:
Carl Reiner reprises his role as Max, Elka's (Betty White) on-again-off-again beau, who Elka tries to convince to stay in Cleveland during the winter, while Victoria (Wendie Malick) falls hard for a new man (Gregory Harrison) she meets during an "Oh, Hi, Ohio" interview, but she must contend with his two young children.
Wednesday, March 23:
While trying to find a way out of her immigration "problem," Joy (Jane Leeves) gets herself smack dab in the middle of another scandal, of sorts, involving the governor and his wife, played by Amy Sedaris. In the meantime, Elka's trial has come at last, where she faces a no-nonsense judge played by Sherri Shepherd, who returns to reprise this role. Elka's attorney, played by Mark Deklin, suggests that her only hope for a not guilty verdict might be some questionable contact with a jury member.
"Hot in Cleveland" was recently nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award® for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series, and Betty White won the award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series.
The series revolves around three fabulous best friends from LA – novelist Melanie Moretti (Valerie Bertinelli), eye-brow archer to the stars Joy Scroggs (Jane Leeves) and former soap star Victoria Chase (Wendie Malick) – who find their lives changed forever when their plane, headed for Paris, makes an unexpected landing. When the friends discover that life is better for them and that they are hot in Cleveland, they decide to stay. Starting over together, they rent a house that happens to come with a very opinionated caretaker (Betty White).
This season was full of amazing guest stars including Mary Tyler Moore, Wayne Knight, Jack Wagner, Melanie Griffith, Susan Lucci, Michael E. Knight, Darnell Williams, Jimmy Kimmel, Peri Gilpin, John Schneider, Bonnie Franklin and Isaiah Mustafa.
Filmed in front of a live studio audience, "Hot in Cleveland" is executive produced by Emmy® Award-winner Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner of Hazy Mills Productions and is helmed by Emmy® Award-winning Suzanne Martin ("Frasier," "Ellen") serving as executive producer, show runner and writer. Lynda Obst also serves as executive producer. "Hot in Cleveland" is currently seen around the world in over 165 countries.
