Carl R. Smith Joins CompuGroup Medical US as General Manager of its Laboratory Division
OWINGS MILLS, Md., Nov. 11, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- CompuGroup Medical US (CGM) announces the appointment of Carl R. Smith as General Manager of its Laboratory Division. Having held multiple leadership positions in application development, product management and client services, Carl joins CGM with over 24 years of experience in the healthcare software industry.
Most recently, Carl served as Vice President of Application Development for Best Doctors, a Boston-based global health insurance and client advocacy solutions provider. Prior to that, Carl provided solution oversight for provider, employer and payer markets in his role as Vice President of Product Management for the clinical analytics product line within Verisk Health. Verisk Health is a subsidiary of Verisk Analytics, whose focus is to help risk bearing entities understand and manage their risk. In this role, Carl created a collaborative environment and implemented effective products that influenced exponential growth in the company's provider customer-base as well as the revenue base for its analytics solution.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Arizona and a Master of Business Administration degree in Technology Management from the University of Phoenix in Tucson, Arizona.
