CaringKind and Healtheo360 to Deliver over 250,000 Digital Media Applications and Virtual Social Therapy to NYC's Alzheimer's Community
Collaboration will bring a suite of dementia-specific resources to improve caregiver experiences and outcomes
NEW YORK, March 15, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- CaringKind (formerly known as the Alzheimer's Association, New York City Chapter) and Healtheo360 today announced a partnership to provide a virtual support group to the more than 250,000 New York City residents affected by a diagnosis of Alzheimer's or a related dementia and their families. The partnership will build on Healtheo360's Virtual Social Therapy® program and digital media platform to help relieve caregiver stress, communicate resources and strategies and provide access to clinical trial enrollments.
Under the program, patients, caregivers and family members will have immediate access to Healtheo360's free portal and a series of affordable mobile subscription services designed to lighten the burden of caregiving for an individual with dementia and to provide information and access to multiple programs, services and resources.
"New York City's Alzheimer's community – including caregivers and people living with the disease – deserve easily accessible, high-quality information and support to supplement access to CaringKind's services," said Lou Ellen Barkan, President and CEO of CaringKind. "Healtheo360's real time digital media platform offers our families and clients simple and comfortable access to critical support services to make their lives easier."
"Patients and caregivers have higher expectations today about actively participating in the healthcare process. This partnership enables a direct digital connection to one of the largest chronic disease populations in the United States and firmly drives us toward our goal of reaching 3,000,000 members and creating a platform that promotes sustainable membership," said Dave Duplay, Chief Executive Officer, Healtheo360.
Healtheo360 is positioned at the intersection of precision medicine and social media where patient and caregiver needs for timely, accurate information and support services is a major unmet need. Particularly for older patient populations where interface with mobile devices such as iPhones can be intimidating, Healtheo360 applications are custom designed for quick and easy access to actionable information and community connectivity.
