Carin Fradin Joins Sagent Advisors
Sagent Continues Expansion with Addition of Former UBS Medical Technology Banker
SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 24, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Sagent Advisors Inc. announced today that Carin Fradin has joined the firm as a Managing Director in the firm's healthcare group. The addition of Ms. Fradin coincides with Sagent's acquisition earlier this month of the investment banking team from Montgomery Marshall Healthcare Partners ("MMHCP"). Ms. Fradin will continue her focus on the Medical Technology sector and be based in the firm's San Francisco office.
"We are thrilled to have a banker of Carin's exceptional caliber join our expanding healthcare team," said Hal Ritch, Sagent Advisors' Chief Executive Officer. "As our recent additions of senior bankers demonstrate, advisors and clients are increasingly attracted to the independent investment banking model that we are building at Sagent."
Ms. Fradin joins a rapidly expanding healthcare practice at the firm, including recent hires, George Montgomery and Keith Marshall, Ph.D. from MMHCP, and former Bank of America Merrill Lynch healthcare banker, Shruthi Kinkead.
"Since arriving at Sagent earlier this month, we have been impressed with the wealth of resources in the firm and the impact being part of Sagent has on our ability to build what is most important to us – our relationships with our clients," said George Montgomery, Managing Director in the firm's Life Sciences practice. "Adding a partner with Carin's expertise further expands the firm's healthcare efforts and enhances the quality and breadth of service we can offer our clients."
Ms. Fradin has over 10 years of investment banking experience in various sectors of the healthcare industry, working primarily with medical technology clients around the world. She has devoted a large portion of her career to emerging technology companies in a wide variety of segments of the medical device market. Prior to joining Sagent, Ms. Fradin was a Managing Director in the UBS Investment Bank Global Healthcare Group, where she started in 1998. Since 2005, she was also responsible for developing UBS's medical device practice in Asia. While at UBS, she led the first two U.S. initial public offerings for China-based healthcare companies, China Medical Technologies, Inc. and Mindray Medical International Limited.
Ms. Fradin graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a BA in both Mathematics and Psychology.
