Cariden Announces Availability of MATE Software for Juniper Networks Junosphere Lab Users
Integration of MATE software with Junosphere Lab delivers comprehensive and cost-effective planning, simulation, and test environment
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Oct. 3, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Cariden Technologies, Inc. today announced availability of a special version of its widely used Cariden MATE™ software for users of the new Junosphere™ Lab service from Juniper Networks. This joint solution will help service providers and other network operators plan, model, and test changes to their networks and understand the full impact those changes will have before implementing them.
The combination of technologies enables network operators to easily build a model of their existing network. By providing a virtual machine within the Junosphere Lab environment running the MATE software, this solution allows a user to import an IGP database from an operational network into the MATE software. This model can then be used to plan changes to topology, deployed protocols, capacity, and the routing of traffic flows. The effect of these proposed changes can be seen through the MATE software. Once a new design looks promising, the user can configure a network within the Junosphere Lab environment using the MATE software. This network can be used for simulation and testing to qualify the Juniper Networks® Junos® operating system and to validate operational procedures. Because of the low cost of building a network lab in a virtual environment compared to deploying live ones, Junosphere Lab allows testing to be done at full scale, rather than the usual practice of testing with a smaller network. For continued ease of deployment, network operators can use the Cariden MATE virtual machine directly within their Junosphere Lab environment for the duration of their access to Juniper's service.
Commenting on today's announcement, Judy Beningson, Vice President and General Manager, Virtual Junos Business Unit at Juniper Networks, said, "We are very pleased to see advanced capacity planning and traffic management solutions such as Cariden's MATE product be made available through Junosphere Lab. Together, these offerings deliver a more cost-efficient means of developing accurate designs before deploying live networks. Using this solution, our customers can be confident their planned network changes will have the desired results and any risks of unexpected network impact will be minimized."
