DEARBORN, Mich., Nov. 24, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- In recognition of Small Business Saturday, a shopping holiday that encourages consumers to patronize small and local businesses, Carhartt today announced the release of a short film to honor tradesmen and craftspeople, The Road Home to Craftsmanship. The focus of the film is hardworking, loyal small business workers who are building America. Carhartt recently embarked on a tour of the Midwest to document the spirit of craftsmanship. The team began in Detroit, crossed through Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha and ended up in Denver.

"The Road Home to Craftsmanship tour allowed us to share and document conversations with small business owners who rely on their specialized trades and crafts to make their living; these are the people who deserve the spotlight every day," said Tony Ambroza, senior vice president of marketing at Carhartt.
Small Business Saturday is a counterpart to Black Friday and Cyber Monday, which focuses on large corporations and e-commerce. U.S. Census Bureau data reports businesses with less than 20 workers account for nearly 90 percent of all business in America.
"As a fourth-generation, family owned and operated company, we understand the importance of small business at Carhartt as more than two-thirds of our retail business partners are small business owners," said Ambroza.

"The spirit of craftsmanship we encountered traveling across the country is inspiring, and we hope to showcase that inspiration in this documentary."
