ATLANTA, June 26, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- CareSource, a nationally recognized nonprofit health plan, will begin serving the Georgia Medicaid population July 1, 2017. CareSource will serve Georgia Families® members enrolled in Medicaid and PeachCare for Kids® and women enrolled in the Planning for Healthy Babies® program.
CareSource is recognized for its commitment to serving vulnerable populations in partnership with community agencies to provide more than a clinical approach to health care. The company will offer Georgia members its innovative Life Services and coaching program to support the Georgia membership. The Life Services JobConnect program will offer supportive resources, job readiness and placement opportunities with a goal of helping members reach self-sufficiency and lessen the support of government programs.
When CareSource begins serving nearly 250,000 Georgia Medicaid members it will be the largest single-day spike in its membership in the company's 28-year history.
Having made a substantial investment in Georgia, CareSource is becoming an integral part of communities in Atlanta and throughout Georgia. Part of this investment is CareSource's Southern Regional headquarters in Atlanta, the only headquarters outside of the company's Dayton, Ohio corporate headquarters. Following the March opening CareSource began filling 250 positions created to support the Georgia market membership.
Bobby Jones, President of the Georgia market will lead the Southern Regional Headquarters operation. Jones comes to Georgia after serving as Chief Operating Officer at CareSource's corporate headquarters for eight years.
"CareSource is new to Georgia, but we are not a new organization. In fact, CareSource has a 28-year history of helping populations with unmet needs by giving them the tools and resources needed for success," said Jones. "This goes above and beyond solving health care challenges. We want to help our members live independent of government programs. We are excited about bringing our mission-based health care approach to serve the Georgia population."
