Caregiver, Inc. Launches Innovative In-House Behavioral Supports Program for IDD Clients
FORT WORTH, Texas, Jan. 22, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Mark Lashley, President and CEO of Caregiver, Inc., is disrupting an outmoded industry-wide model of contracting with outside companies for behavioral supports for their clients, an approach that suffers from disparate contractors and inconsistent, rotating outside staff that too often submits Caregiver clients to less-than-optimum experiences.
Caregiver is a leading Texas-based provider of services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Behavioral supports are ancillary services like staff training, behavior plans, and progress monitoring that assure individual clients get the customized help they need to lead their best lives.
Lashley charged his executive team with finding a way to improve outcomes and quality of life for clients and begin to heal an industry overly-dependent on outside contractor services. Under the direction of VP of Operations Strategy Alex Sturges, the team created a Caregiver Behavioral Supports program that has Caregiver staff design, deliver, and manage personalized IDD client treatment plans, a dramatic departure from the industry norm.
In Caregiver's new model, internal teams review and assess progress continually and adjust as each individual client works toward unique goals. Angie Huber, PhD, is Director of Behavioral Services. With Ph.D. in clinical psychology, Dr. Huber is an eight-year Caregiver veteran whose background, management experience and passion for the IDD population position her to guide the program.
"We've had a tremendous response so far," said Dr. Huber. "Our clients' guardians are seeing Caregiver investing resources where we can make a huge impact."
Lashley sees that impact even more broadly, with better client outcomes, increased employee engagement and higher job satisfaction.
Caregiver's Behavioral Supports Program is currently available in Texas. Caregiver is accepting new enrollments for families looking to transfer to this level of care.
