Care Resource Housing Program Helps 37 South Florida Families Through Bezos Day 1 Families Fund

MIAMI, Sept. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Care Resource Community Health Centers, Inc. has assisted 37 South Florida families representing 131 household members, including 81 children, through its Housing Services program with funding from the Bezos Day 1 Families Fund.

Since implementation of the program, 29 households have successfully moved into stable housing through housing navigation, advocacy, financial assistance and case management services. More than $156,000 in funding has been used to support housing placement and stabilization efforts.

Among those families is a South Florida mother and her eight children whose experience demonstrates the impact a secure home can have on health, well-being and long-term stability.

Prior to receiving assistance, the mother and her children lived in overcrowded conditions with extended family members. As the household grew, the living situation became increasingly unsustainable, particularly because the youngest child required ongoing medical care and a stable environment due to multiple health conditions.

Finding affordable housing large enough for a family of nine presented significant challenges. Through Care Resource's Housing Services program, supported in part by funding from the Bezos Day 1 Families Fund, the family received personalized housing navigation, case management, and advocacy services designed to help secure permanent housing.

As a result of these coordinated efforts, the family successfully moved into a spacious three-bedroom home that now provides the safety, stability, and opportunity needed to thrive.

The family's progress extended beyond housing stability. During the process, the mother also secured full-time employment with Care Resource as a Dental Receptionist, providing additional financial security for her family.

Support from philanthropic partners, including the Bezos Day 1 Families Fund, allows Care Resource to expand housing navigation, financial assistance and case management for families experiencing housing instability.

For the family featured in this story, that support means a stable home for a mother and her eight children, along with new opportunities for long-term financial security.
