Lorex Technology's innovative new series of NVRs can record 4K Ultra HD video at a real-time 30fps (frames per second).
MARKHAM, ON, July 31, 2018 /PRNewswire/ - Lorex Technology, a global leader in home and small business video surveillance solutions, is now selling a new lineup of network video recorders (NVR) with revolutionary 30 frames-per-second (fps) recording in 4K Ultra HD. The NVRs come in eight, sixteen, and thirty-two channel configurations, and can accommodate IP cameras from 720p all the way to 4K. The NVRs also come pre-installed with a security certified hard drive from 2TB to 6TB, depending on channel configuration.
Real-time 30fps in 4K resolution is a cutting-edge feature for security recorders. A 30fps frame rate brings about exceptionally smooth motion in the video display, mimicking a "real-time" flow of motion. This fluid motion is achieved precisely because there is a substantial number of images that are rapidly displayed per second. Lower frame rates can result in the video appearing choppy, where slight movements appear to be missing, which is a significant disadvantage in video surveillance. By using a higher frame rate of 30fps, users will have more frames to choose from to capture the best moments for evidence. Up until now, 30fps has typically been limited to lower resolutions. These NVRs, however, are now capable of this real-time frame rate in Ultra HD or 4K, resulting in stunningly smooth video with the highest quality of details.
"Choppy and grainy video is pretty much a thing of the past," said Sufi Sulaiman, Vice President of Digital and Commerce of Lorex Technology. "With our new and revolutionary NVRs with the power to record at 30 frames per second and deliver stunning 4K video, we are changing the face of video surveillance. Today, video surveillance is not just about recording other people or animals invading our privacies but capturing real-life experiences as they happen in 4K Ultra HD. We are making this possible through our products."
Another great feature of these NVRs is that they are equipped with High-Efficiency Video Encoding (HEVC) or H.265 video compression. This encoding technology drastically compresses file sizes. In fact, it can compress file sizes up to 40% more than files using the previous encoding technology (H.264), without any noticeable degradation in quality. Without HEVC, 4K video at 30fps would take up a lot of storage space. With HEVC, however, you can keep the 4K video without the 4K file sizes.
Additionally, these NVRs are compatible with all ONVIF compliant cameras, including Arecont Vision, Airlive, AXIS, Canon, Dynacolor, JVC, LG, Panasonic, Pelco, PSIA, Samsung, Sanyo, Sony, Watchnet and more. With this wide selection of ONVIF IP compatible cameras, Lorex's NVRs can be easily incorporated into existing security systems.
Available for separate purchase, as well as in pre-assembled bundles, these NVRs are perfect for experienced users who wish to upgrade their older systems or new users who want to start a new 4K security camera system.
