CapTech Food Fight Raises More Than 90,000 Pounds of Food for Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina
CHARLOTTE, N.C., Dec. 20, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Competing in the CapTech National Food Fight, CapTech Charlotte raised more than $15,000 for Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina (SHFBM). The CapTech Food Fight is a friendly competition among the consulting firm's eight office locations. The check presentation took place at the Food Bank during a volunteer event on November 29.
"Our partnership with CapTech has allowed SHFBM to distribute over 90,000 pounds of food throughout our 19-county service region to many of the 700+ nonprofit agencies that we serve," notes Kay Carter, SHFBM CEO. "Volunteer service combined with financial support truly make a difference in our community as we work to end hunger. We are so thankful for our friends at CapTech, for all that they do."
CapTech's National Food Fight, which takes place annually in November, raised over $115,000 for local food banks across the country in 2018. CapTech Charlotte competed against other offices to raise the most funds per capita for local food banks, increasing their funds raised by 230% from the 2017 fundraiser.

Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina strives to eliminate hunger through advocacy, education, and partnerships for the solicitation and distribution of food.
