SANTA CLARITA, Calif., Feb. 3, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Princess Cruises announced today that Captain Dino Sagani has been named master of its next new ship, Majestic Princess. He will lead a senior officer team with more than 100 years of seagoing experience among them.

The relief Captain appointed to Majestic Princess is Princess Cruises' veteran, Captain Craig Street.

About Captain Dino Sagani
Captain Dino Sagani has served on board the ships of Princess Cruises for over 21 years having commanded a variety of Princess vessels, including Sea Princess, Dawn Princess, Sapphire Princess, Diamond Princess and most recently as relief captain on board Royal Princess and Regal Princess. Sagani was born in Trieste on the North East Adriatic coast of Italy. Following the family tradition, he studied at the Nautical College in Trieste, which is one of the oldest Nautical Schools in Europe. On completion of his studies, he joined the Italian Navy, serving on a minesweeper during the first Gulf War. After the Navy, he joined Princess Cruises in 1995, where he quickly climbed the ranks and was promoted to Captain in 2007.

Captain Craig Street has commanded a variety of Princess vessels, including Caribbean Princess, Golden Princess, Sea Princess, Sun Princess, the former Royal Princess and Pacific Jewel, with sister Company P&O Australia. In addition, Captain Street has previously had the opportunity to bring three Princess cruise ships into service from the same shipyard in Italy; namely the Caribbean Princess, Sea Princess & Dawn Princess. Street was born in Norfolk, England, spent most of his youth living in Edinburgh, Scotland. In 1990 he joined the Princess family as a deck cadet and after serving 3 years as an apprentice, qualified as 3rd Officer in 1993. Since then he has advanced through the ranks with his first command being the Star Princess in 2008.
