Cornejo will join the firm as a Managing Director, further strengthening CFI's regulatory, compliance and risk management capabilities for financial services firms, FORTUNE 500 companies, and their outside advisors.
Ms. Cornejo has more than two decades of experience as a compliance professional, most recently having served as Director, Compliance and Regulatory at Thomson Reuters (BETA Systems), where she managed that service firm's wealth management compliance department, which supported several of the nation's largest broker-dealers with end-to-end regulatory guidance. In that role, she also worked with regulatory agencies and industry groups to develop alternative and innovative compliance solutions for firms.
Her prior experience also includes senior level positions, involving both compliance-related and operational responsibilities, at Washington Mutual in Seattle, and at Wachovia Securities and Harris Bank in Chicago. At those firms, Ms. Cornejo was involved in a broad range of assignments and special projects, including oversight of FINRA and SEC examinations of retail broker-dealers, clearing conversions, and development of heightened supervisory review disciplines. She is a graduate of DePaul University.
