Capital BlueCross Now Accepting adultBasic Applications in Central Pennsylvania, Lehigh Valley
HARRISBURG, Pa., July 21 /PRNewswire/ -- As Capital BlueCross works to help reduce the number of uninsured adults in Pennsylvania, the company is pleased to announce that it has been selected as one of the region's health insurers to provide health care coverage through the adultBasic program.
adultBasic, administered by the Pennsylvania Insurance Department, provides low-cost health care coverage to Pennsylvania residents ages 19 through 64 who meet specific eligibility and income requirements. Benefits include preventive services, such as immunizations and routine check-ups provided in a primary care physician's office, specialist office visits, emergency room visits and inpatient\outpatient services.
Despite the current waiting list for the adultBasic program, individuals are still encouraged to apply in case additional funding becomes available. While on the waiting list, enrollees may purchase adultBasic coverage at full cost without it affecting their place on the waiting list.
"This is a very popular program with limited funding, so it is vitally important for those who are uninsured and eligible to apply and get on the waiting list for coverage," said Barbara Dubs, Capital BlueCross Senior Director, CHIP and adultBasic.
