Canyon Heavy Equipment Auction draws hundreds of bidders
CANYON, Texas, June 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Thursday's auction of tractors, excavators, loaders, forklifts and other equipment attracted hundreds of bidders in Assiter Auctioneers' latest Canyon Heavy Equipment auction.
"These auctions have taken on a life of their own, becoming the preferred way of buying and selling used equipment for many individuals, dealers, farmers and other businesses in the area," said Spanky Assiter, chief executive officer of the company. "We had amazing participation by sellers and buyers alike, with 386 lots offered by 94 consignors, including the City of Amarillo, Xcel Energy, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court and others."
The auction attracted a total of 583 bidders, including those bidding live and online. "I think it helps when you have a good, varied inventory like we did. We sold boats, RVs, backhoes, forklifts, mini excavators, cars, trucks, generators and bucket trucks, among other things – ultimately getting more than $1 million for our consignors," Assiter said.
With the equipment sale behind them, the Assiter Auctioneers team turns its attention to upcoming auctions, including 937 acres of ranch land in Canadian and a historic home in White Deer, both being sold on Tuesday, June 17. The next day, June 18, Assiter Auctioneers will auction a waterfront home on Lake Tanglewood.
"Things seem to be heating up a bit for real estate, and of course we're always glad to talk to those who are considering an auction for their homes or land," said Assiter.
