Canvas Partnership Simplifies Video-Enabled Active Learning and Lecture Capture Opportunities for Canvas Higher Education Customers
SAN JOSE, Calif., Sept. 28, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- YuJa, a leader in Active Learning solutions, announces a certified partnership with Instructure, the company that created the Canvas learning management system (LMS). This partnership allows lecture captures, live webcasting, real-time discussions, and synchronous video classroom experiences to integrate seamlessly into the Canvas LMS using Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI).
Canvas is an intuitive learning management system, bringing a range of resources and tools to students and instructors at K-12 schools, colleges and universities across the country. Launched in 2011, Canvas is an open platform, designed to make the process of teaching and learning easier for students, instructors and administrators at schools across the country.
Integration with the YuJa Active Learning Platform brings a range of innovative tools to the online learning experience. Institutions can deploy fully-automated room captures and webcasts with the YuJa Hardware Hub, "flipped classroom" content creation using the YuJa Software Station, or use the synchronous Video Classroom platform for online lectures for two to 200 students. YuJa supports and encourages collaborative learning and interaction for students and instructors.
"The partnership with Instructure enables our Canvas-powered institutions to create end-to-end scalable learning solutions," said YuJa chief business officer Nathan Arora. "We are excited about the tangible benefits this integration with Canvas offers administrators, instructors and students."
According to Melissa Loble, vice president of platform and partnerships at Instructure, "Video broadcasting and synchronous video activities are important to the future of online and flipped learning, and our partnership with YuJa provides an excellent opportunity for Canvas users to benefit from these technologies."
