Environmental, Social, & Governance Panel
Environmental, social, and governance (ESG) is a growing practice that U.S. investors are rapidly adopting. Endowments, foundations, and families are looking for solutions that will lead to positive financial and sustainable outcomes. Socially responsible investing (SRI), positive ESG integration, and impact investing are examples that investors can utilize for ESG investing. Ophir Bruck, U.S. network manager for the Principles for Responsible Investment, Blaine Townsend, director of sustainable investing for Bailard Asset Management, and Lisa Richter, managing partner for Avivar Capital, will discuss the current ESG environment, dispel common myths of the space, and consider the future outlook for ESG investing.
Macroeconomic Outlook
PIMCO Managing Director and Global Economic Advisor Joachim Fels will present the macroeconomic outlook for 2019. Fels, a member of PIMCO's investment committee, leads PIMCO's quarterly cyclical and secular forum processes, and serves as a member of PIMCO's executive committee.
Political Environment
Political Environment presenter Greg Valliere, chief political strategist at Horizon Investments will offer observations about how Washington, D.C., politics affects financial markets. He researches the actions of Congress, the White House, and the Federal Reserve that guide the nation's economic and monetary policies.
Behavioral Finance
The investment forum will also include Raife Giovinazzo, Ph.D., CFA, partner and portfolio manager at Fuller & Thaler, who will be providing a presentation on behavioral finance. Giovinazzo is director of research, a member of the board, and an owner at Fuller & Thaler and is responsible for managing the firm's behavioral small cap equity strategy.
Global Markets Panel
U.S. economy is on firm footing and the Fed, by way of raising rates, is well on its way to handing the reins of growth to the real economy. The same cannot be said for some of the advanced and emerging economies which are now showing signs of slowing growth. Our distinguished panelists, Ardra Belitz, managing director at Lazard Asset Management; Jack McIntyre, CFA, portfolio manager at Brandywine Global; and Steve Shapiro, partner at GoldenTree Asset Management, represent specialization across emerging markets currency and debt, global distressed debt and credit investing, and global fixed income investing. Panelists will provide their candid and insightful thinking on what investors might expect during 2019 and where the pockets of opportunity and risk may lie.
The invitation-only Annual Investment Forum takes place January 17, 2019, at the Balboa Bay Resort, 1221 West Coast Highway in Newport Beach, CA. For registration please contact (949)721-9580 or email [email protected].
