Cannabis Gets Its Own SXSW
Enlighten Announces Partnership with Lemonhaze for First National Cannabis Business, Education and Entertainment Convention
TACOMA, Wash., Aug. 28, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Enlighten, the first full-scale enterprise technology solution in the cannabis space, announced today that they will be partnering with Lemonhaze, a Seattle based data analytics company, to power the technology at the Lemonhaze Cannabis & Comedy Convention, taking place at the newly refurbished Tacoma Dome, on October 25th and 26th, 2018. This partnership is said to promise a one of a kind cannabis convention experience.
"We are extremely excited to be a part of this from the ground floor," said Enlighten Chairman, Jeremy Jacobs. "We can't wait to showcase the true extent of Enlighten's tech and feel that with Enlighten's support, the Lemonhaze National Cannabis Convention & Comedy Festival will truly be a unique multimedia entertainment experience, the likes of which, the cannabis convention circuit has never seen."
The event will feature comedy by Doug Benson, a comedic legend, as headliner, and will combine a major networking event for the cannabis industry together with performances from some the world's most recognized entertainers. This event hopes to be for Cannabis what SXSW has been for technology, pairing innovation and a hub of influence with fun and education.
The Lemonhaze Cannabis & Comedy Convention will be the largest 502 convention in the Pacific Northwest, with an expected audience of 5,000 Cannabis industry members ranging from producers to processors and retailers as well as ancillary support businesses. There will be free continuing education workshops as well as panels that include topics of creating your cannabis brand, investing in marijuana, banking, women's leadership in the cannabis industry and vaping technology.
In addition to Doug Benson as headliner, the event will host nightly comedic sets by some of the best comedic performers of our time, including: Judah Friedlander, Jessimae Peluso and Donnell Rawlings.
The event will also host meetings for the following cannabis associations:
- The Washington Cannabusiness Association (WACA)
- Cannabis Organization of Retail Establishments (C.O.R.E.)
- The National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML)
- The Cannabis Alliance
- The Washington Sungrowers Industry Association
- The Cannabis Farmers Council
"I was tired of going to conventions, buying a booth and the only visitors were the other booth buyers," said organizer Brian Yauger, president and co-founder of Lemonhaze.com. "We felt that if we brought best in class educators together with incredible entertainment we could create a conference that added real value to exhibitors and attendees."
The Lemonhaze National Cannabis Convention & Comedy Festival will be free to attend for licensed marijuana businesses, including dispensaries, growers and processors- with proof of employment. General admission is $299 for two days.
