Canfield Scientific Releases the Most Advanced, Fully-Automated, Easy-to-Use IntelliStudio® and Rounds Out Medical Dermatology Line of Imaging Systems
50MP mobile solution builds on global success of VECTRA® 3D WB360 whole body imaging system, delivering studio-quality images and LED-illuminated video capture for patient motion studies.
PARSIPPANY, N.J., Feb. 16, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- At the Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) in San Diego, CA, Canfield Scientific today announced that it is expanding its family of medical dermatology systems with a new fully-automated IntelliStudio® total body photography system. Building on the global success of its groundbreaking VECTRA® 3D WB360, currently showing at AAD, the IntelliStudio is designed to capture consistent reproducible clinical images quickly and easily. Using a 50MP full frame SLR with studio-quality lighting and smart automation, and non-polarized and cross-polarized lighting developed specifically for capturing photographs of the human body, the IntelliStudio offers integrated video capabilities with LED lighting and programmable zoom capabilities.
"We've simplified image capture to ensure the best quality images," said product manager Dennis O'Neal. "Our fast, motorized programmable lift, automated body mapping software, and selection of standard templates control camera settings and patient poses, resulting in clear, high resolution images every time, for every user."
The IntelliStudio automatically positions the camera, initially using auto-facial recognition technology, then recalls the position for follow-up photos. Coupled with Canfield's MatchPose® image capture positioning software, the result is a registered before and after image, since camera settings, position and lens zoom are saved automatically and used for follow-up and post-procedure photos.
Similar to the WB360 and WB180, the IntelliStudio uses Canfield's advanced DermaGraphix® Body Mapping software. The software enables the quick capture of body map photographs and provides a powerful and informative dashboard for a complete view of the patient's photographic history that facilitates mole mapping and pre and post image capture.
Completing the medical dermatology family of systems is Canfield's VEOS® handheld dermatoscope. Combining exclusive optics and lighting with optional wireless image capture, the VEOS dermatoscopes integrate seamlessly with the DermaGraphix software to easily link close up images to their corresponding tagged lesions.
"Our portfolio of systems meets the needs of both the medical and aesthetic dermatology markets," said founder and President Doug Canfield. "With the addition of the IntelliStudio, we are providing yet another way for our customers to capture consistent, accurate images for consistent, accurate results."
