Over 120 individuals from across the country are expected to gather in Arlington for the Forum, a national model for mobilizing communities to better support Soldiers and their Families. With more than 1.6 million Soldiers currently deployed, the Army has acknowledged the need to incorporate community agencies and organizations in order to effectively support Soldiers and their Families. One result of this recognition is the Army OneSource Initiative's National Partnership Forum.
"Since we were honored to be part of the First Lady's kick-off of the Joining Forces initiative, and for years have been dedicated to providing human services to military individuals and families, Catholic Charities is extremely pleased to be part of this event and panel," said Ms. Hill. "This is a very important initiative for our country, and we look forward to the development of a much stronger focus on the needs of military families."
Catholic Charities USA's members provide help and create hope for more than 9 million people a year regardless of religious, social, or economic backgrounds. For almost 300 years, Catholic Charities agencies have worked to reduce poverty by providing a myriad of vital services in their communities, ranging from health care and job training to food and housing. In 2010, Catholic Charities USA celebrated its centennial anniversary.
